Singing "Glory Days' with the man...
In the
late 80's, I had the pleasure
of being in the house band at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park New Jersey,
called Cats on a Smooth Surface. Bruce often referred to
us in the press as his favorite band to jam with...in the
Summers of '87 and '88, I swear it seemed he
came up with us almost every Sunday...word would get 'out in the
streets' that Bruce was coming onstage, and by midnight
or so, that small ocean-swept rock n' roll haven
was filled with sweaty Springsteen worshippers
from all over the Tri-State area-and our band was the
band he graced with his charismatic presence...those were magical hot Summer nights
I'll take with me forever...
