Greetings....
I just wanted to let everyone know that I have left the Meat Loaf band ,
as guitarist/keyboardist/singer, to pursue my flourishing kids' project,
whereby, I am known as mr. RAY!
At my last rehearsal at Montana Studios in NYC, Meat Loaf gave me the warmest
bear hug you can imagine, and told me he was
extremely happy for me and wished me nothing but great things,
as far as my mr. RAY venture is concerned.
I simply decided that I could not commit to extensive tours for even a month and
beyond with Meat & Co.,
due
to the unbelievable response I am getting from my debut album, and my
performances,
and my commitment to them.
There are exciting prospects tied to this project that need my
constant attention, involving various media forms.
My friendships with everyone in the Meat Loaf Band
and the entire Tech Crew will stay forever, I'm sure.
I particularly owe a debt of gratitude to Kasim Sulton,
who made that call back in '98, to ask me to join the Band.
It literally changed my life, bringing me to countries I'd always wondered when
I'd get to see,
meeting
cool folks on the road, such as Elvis Costello, David Wells (Yankees), RFK, Jr.,
& so many more...
It also gave me the distinction of putting on my resume'
that I've toured some of the globe (and the TV spectrum) with one of the true legends of Rock and Roll.
Performing gems like, Bat Out Of Hell, Paradise By the Dashboard Light, Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad,
to
20,000 screaming
fans
at
London's Wembly Arena for the first time,
and seeing, from behind my keyboard set-up, the silhouette of Meat Loaf pouring
his heart out,
against
the multi-coloured stage lights, is a site and sound I will never forget....
I also want to thank the phenomenal Meat Loaf Fans out there
that have supported me in all of my artistic endeavours.
Your coverage of my activities has been overwhelming,
and I will miss that, for sure.
In particular, there is Miriam, Anne, Vee, Debbie, Kat & Lori....
It was like having multiple PR Firms!
It may sound corny to some of you, but I really feel I have found my calling,
performing to kids.
I
strive to start them off, to Respect each other, and all Living Things,
and to appreciate the beauty of MUSIC.
My path looks bright and I must stay true to it.
God Bless You All.
Love,
Ray Andersen
