What's TRAIN TO ROCK ACADEMY all about?
The goal is to inspire kids who already have the early musicianship & passion, with a chance to rehearse
together as a real band and ultimately, perform with their fellow musicians in an exciting performance at the historic
Forum Theatre in Metuchen New Jersey, at the end of the 8-week session.

Who runs it?
The instructor for this course is veteran musician, Ray Andersen,
who's known to families in the US and the UK as mr. RAY.
He's currently signed to Universal Records UK and tours there regularly.
Ray was a full-time member of international Rock superstar, Meat Loaf's band from 1998-2001,
and played from Wembley Arena to Letterman, Leno and the View. As recent as December 2008,
he's shared a stage with Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi. Click here for a full bio.

Is there an age requirement for this course?
Students from 11-18 with intermediate to advanced skill levels are welcome.
All students must have be able to PLAY their instrument.
There will be two age groups, to be determined by the playing level of each student.
Your child's placement will be determined by the level of musicianship exhibited at the audition.
Please have her/him prepare one full or partial ROCK song of their choice from the 60s/70s/80s/90s.
Though we love them, please no Broadway/Show tunes for the audition.

When is the TRAIN TO ROCK class held?
The 8-week Train To Rock course is held on Wednesdays 6:15pm-7:30pm.
Each class is 75 minutes and the first 15 minutes will be designated for band set-up.

How do I enroll my child in the TRAIN TO ROCK program?
You must be able to play least one song on their instrument for the audition
and know the names of the notes and chords.
Students must also bring their instrument (and amp if necessary)
to every class. Drums and keyboards are supplied.

What instruments are welcome in the TRAIN TO ROCK program?
Vocalists, electric and/or acoustic guitar, electric bass guitar, drums & keyboards. Sorry, no horn instruments at this time.

What will my child gain from the TRAIN TO ROCK program?
All students participating in the Train To Rock program will learn how to co-exist with fellow
musicians in a band situation, some basic song arranging skills,
stage etiquette, how to treat their instrument and much more. All of this will culminate
in a live performance at the end of the program.

What other requirements are there?
The students will be required to have the proper equipment for this class (a playable instrument, extra strings, reeds, cables that work, etc.
Brand is not important, but function is). Guitarists are encouraged (but not required)to play standing up, with a strap.
Students MUST arrive at least 5 minutes prior to class time. The first 15 minutes of every class is
dedicated to setup, so it is crucial to BE ON TIME so we can maximize the playing time.

What is the cost and start / end dates for TTR Session 3?
The 8-week course for Session 4 starts on September 15th and ends November 3rd
with a showcase concert On Thursday November 4th at 7:30pm.
The cost is $325 per student.
